Key Sections of a GRI Gemstone Report
1. Header & Verification Details
Report Number: A unique alphanumeric code assigned to your specific testing event. You can use this number on our website’s online report verification database to confirm the physical report matches our official laboratory records.
Date of Issuance: The exact date the testing was completed. Because gemstones can be recut, treated, or altered at any time, findings reflect the state of the stone at this specific moment.
2. Physical & Optical Characteristics
This section details the primary measurable parameters used by gemologists to identify stone species:
Object / Description: Identifies the type of article submitted (e.g., Loose Cut Gemstone, Mounted Ring, Bead Strand).
Weight: Measured in Carats (cts) for loose stones or Grams (g) for larger items/jewelry.
Dimensions: Recorded in millimeters (Length × Width × Depth) to document the stone’s precise scale.
